The grids5, 6, Fig. 1, are coupled by coils 7, 8, and an additional coil 9 shunted by a resistance 10 isconnected to the cathode 11 of the tube 3. In modifications, the cathode 11 is connectedto the inner-grid circuit of the valve by condenserresistance combinations that determinethe duration of the bias impulse, Figs. 2, 3 (not shown). The bias impulse may be appliedto a grid of the tube 3 through a diode that conducts only when the potential is below asuitable value. Fig. 4 (not shown).
