初二专题 情感与 感受 Emotions

Emotions & Feelings

Francis Bacon once said,”No man is angry that feels not himself hurt”. People are most likely to be angry when treated unfairly, especially when we are betrayed by a close friend, or be tricked by someone. When people are looked down upon or treated with contempt, they will surely be angry. When people witness some injustices, they will get angry. For example, when we see a child being bullied by a group of hoodlums(恶棍), it makes our blood boil.

There are countless reasons people get angry. But remember what Aristotle said, “Anybody can become angry—that is easy; but to be angry with the right person, and to the right degree, and at the right time, and for the right purpose, and in the right way—that is not within everybody’s power and is not easy.”

Discussion :What would you do when you feel upset?

Everyone can feel a bit down and sad sometimes. Here are some ways to cheer up!

Step 1

Call up a friend to talk about it to get your mind off it.

Step 2

Watch a funny movie, preferably one that you've already seen and liked. Or, watch a sad one, that will make you think \"huh, my life isn't as bad as theirs!!”

Step 3

Exercise. Go for a walk, a jog, or a bike ride. Doing this will make your body relaxed.

Step 4

Be spontaneous (随心所欲). Sometimes a consistent and boring routine can make you feel bad. Do something out of the routine, but don't make any rush decisions.

Step 5

Think about good memories. If you’ve lived through them once, then you can definitely have them again. Things may seem bad right now, but it doesn’t mean that tomorrow will still be the same.

Step 6

Take a shower. You will feel happier and refreshed.

Step 7

Get out of the house! The fresh air will make you feel better. Go somewhere with a friend, a family member, or even by yourself. See a movie, shop, go on a picnic, etc. Staying inside is like trapping yourself inside your depression.

Step 8

Listen to music. Don't listen to sad music–try listening to energetic tunes or a song that inspires you or reminds you of good times.

Step 9

Have a good cry. Sometimes the sadness stays inside your head if you try to force yourself to be happy. Try to let the tears out at the most appropriate time, mainly the best time when you are alone. Do this, and you might feel more relieved of your sad feelings, as if it \"got off your chest\".

Step 10

Sometimes taking a nap might make you feel better. Try it and have a good, long nap.

Remember that sadness will eventually go away if you think positively.

HAPPINESS

Every day, every hour, every minute and every second can bring us happiness. Life is good and beautiful. And with its trials (磨炼) and troubles, life is becoming more colorful and interesting. Happiness lies just in your own hands. If you think this way, you can be happy all your life.

True happiness is an attitude that can be created anytime, anywhere, and by

anyone. Happiness doesn’t just happen to you. It does not depend on who you are with, where you are, or what is happening around you. Happiness is a state of mind. It is a consciousness(意识) within reach of anyone who is ready to welcome it.

“Don’t wait around for other people to be happy for you. Any happiness you get you’ve got to make yourself”.
