Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) values for SCADAPacks, Expansion and
Communication Modules and SCADASense products are derived from actual shipping and repair data.
Shipping and repair data are used to calculate the \"at risk\" time and is based on the assumption that products go into continuous service immediately upon shipment and come out of service upon arrival at the Kanata repair facility. Data includes all shipment since 2004.
The calculation for “Field Proven” MTBF is MTBF = At risk time /Confirmed Hardware Failures.
The MTBF values are calculated for three product categories.
• SCADAPack PLCs and RTUs.
• Expansion and Communication Modules • SCADASense Flow and Pressure
SCADAPack PLCs and RTUs. 7.37 X 108 hours at risk 610 confirmed failures 137 years MTBF
Expansion and Communication Modules 7.98 X 108 hours at risk 218 confirmed failures 418 years MTBF
SCADASense Flow and Pressure 1.86 X 108 hours at risk 271 confirmed failures 78 year MTBF
Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) values for Accutech products are calculated using the MIL-HDBK-217 standard.
