摘要：The present invention relates to a wavelength shifter comprising a supportingstructure of solid material and a fluorescent wavelength shifting dye capable to absorblight in the UV range and reemit light in the visible range, the dye being homogeneouslydistributed therein. According to the present invention the supporting material is afluoro-thermoplastic material (fluoropolymers) having a very high transmittance in theUV range selected from the group comprising tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene,vinylidene fluoride and a polymer of tetrafluoroethylene and ethylene, and thewavelength shifting dye is an organic fluor compound.
