（旁白）Mother and her daughter sat on the floor. Mother is telling a story about a wise tortoise who was ruined by his own wisdom . Mother: Once upon a time……there is a wise tortoise who was greedy at the same time.
（旁白）One day, all the birds got a message from god .
Bird A: Oh, look, how generous the god is. I remember when I was 2 years old, I was honored to be invited ，you can’t image how great the feast is!!!!
Bird B: I think we must make up before we fly there. All birds: Yes yes!!
(旁白)They began painted their bodies deep red and drew beautiful pattens on them with dye.
(Tortoise appears and saw all these preparation, thinking for a while and soon realized what happened. So he said to himself)
T: It’s a rare chance. I must catch it. I had not eaten a good meal for two moons. My poor body rattled like a dry stick in my empty shell. I must come up an idea to attend them.
(So he went to the birds and asked to be allowed to go with them) T: Hi, beautiful birds, I heard that you were got the chance to have a feast
in the heaven.So…can you take me together? You know , I am a famous gourmet in the forest.
Bird A: We know you too well. You are full of cunning and you are ungreatful.
Bird B: Yes!If we allow you to come with us you will soon begin your mischief. we know you of old.
T: You do not know me. I am not a tortoise like before. I am a changed man .
Birds: So? (怀疑的表情)
T: I learned foreign languages. I traveled all around the world. I got the doctor’s degree. What’s more, I learned Chinese gongfu and India yuga to purge my soul(动作自定).I am thoughtful and wellmeaning. Rest assured, I promise I will not cause you any trouble.
Bird A: En…… Let us discuss about it.(所有鸟聚在一起讨论)
Bird A: You are not the greedy tortoise any longer. We think we can help you. But……En ……You have no wings. How can you fly? T: It’s easy. Everyone of you give me a feather.
At last , the great day came, and tortoise was the first to arrive at the meeting place. Then the bird sat off together and arrived later.
T: There is one important thing which we must not forget ,when people
are invited to a great feast like this, they take new names for the occasion. Our host in the sky will expect us to honor age-old custom. Bird A: But I never heard of it.
Bird B: Neither did I, but since tortoise is widely traveled, I think he must know the custom of different peoples. Bird A: So what should I called? Bird B: How about … Bird A: En ,good . what yours? T: You can call me “all of you”.
At last, god came in.He was very happy to see his guests. Birds: Thanks for your invitation.
T: it’s our honor to be invited here. You are so generous and kindly. I think I will never forget this moment in my life.
God: Are you the king of the birds? Hohoho~ you are wise than most of animals.
The feast start
God: I hope you enjoy the dishes.
(all birds start eating, at this time,tortoise jumped to his feet and asked) T: For whom have you prepared this feast? God: For all of you.
(Tortoise turned to the birds)
T: You remember that my name is all of you. The custom here is to serve the spokersman first and the others later. They will serve you when I have eatern.
(Tortoise began to eat and the birds grumbled angrily)
G: Oh, I got it. It must your custom to leave all the food for your king. (So the birds have to eat what was left and to peck at the bones he had throw on the floor)
Bird A: Tortoise is so bad. I am hungry.
Bird B: Yes! We are so stupid to believe him. We were treated by his sweet tougue.
Bird A: we shouldn’t help him any more.(he turned to the tortoise),return my feather back! Big treater!
(Every birds took back the feather they had lent to) T: Oh,no. now how can I go back? Parrot: Maybe, I can help you.
T: You are so good. Please, tell my wife to bring out all the soft things in my house and cover the ground with them so that I can jump down from the sky without hunting myself. P: Ok
(Then the parrot fly away)
P: Heng! The bad tortoise, let me give you some color see see.(he go into
the tortoise’s home,and deliver the massage) Hi, beautiful lady, your husband asked me to deliver a message to you. Bring out all the hard and sharp things in the house.
(So the tortoise’s wife dutifully brought out her hunsband’s hose knives,spears,guns,and even his cannon)
(When all seemed ready,tortoise jumped down.He fell and fell ,then he realised that all the things on the ground are sharp.)
T:Oh ,no!Help!Help!Who can help me stop falling!……Oh,my god! (It’s too late to do anything,he crashed to the ground and his shell broken into hundreds of pieces) T: oh, such a bitch!
Children:Mum,did he die?
Mother:No,there was a great medicine man in the neighborhood,he gatherde all the bits of shell and stuck them together. Children:Oh~No wonder the tortoise shell is not smooth now.
