买东西是被宰，所以不管是不是行家都要先造出声势，用这句话镇住卖家。“Rip someone off”意为某商店或商贩企图宰它的顾客，敲竹杠。如：“The shop tried to rip me off, but I taught them a good lesson.”（那个商店企图宰我，结果让我教训了一顿）。如果真的被狠宰了一下，你当然还可以说，“I was ripped off.”或者“I was cleaned out.”第二句，有被骗得很惨的意思。
大家都希望买到物廉价美的东西，所以就免不了要讨价还价。这两句话往往能使你少花些钱。你要注意的是这样的问题一般只在“market”（市场）这些 地方问，像“shopping mall”（购物中心），“supermarket”（超市）和“department store”（百货商场）里说这样的话，就不太合适，因为除了大型商品，一般物品是不打折的。 不同地区的：

美国人说 Good, I'm fine, I'm good, I'm doing good, I'm doing well, 再加 Thank you! 或者 and you? 不同级别的： 低 well. good. fine. I am well. I am good. I am fine.

糟透了! 如果回答bad,一般人家会问你what happened? 你就不得不回答一大堆，所以为了节省大家的时间，礼貌性的回答一下即可，别忘了说thank you!
和老外交谈，对我们这些正在练习口语的人来说，可以说是多多益善。可是站在老外的角度来说，他们未必这么想。为了保持友好和礼貌，在谈话中我们应该知道掌握分寸。如果老外已经发出结束谈话的信号，我们一定不要继续纠缠。
再直率的老外，大概也不会直截了当的告诉你：Please stop talking！他们会采用一些策略的，我们必须要会这些策略，才是知道他们的本意。 策略1：It's was nice talking to you. 策略2：I'd better get back to work.
策略3：I know you are busy,so I'll let you get back to what you are doing. 策略4：I think we have talked long enough. 策略5：That is all very interesting. 策略6：Thank for calling. 策略7：Talk to you later. 策略8：Have a nice day.
Long time no see好久不见
老外结束谈话方式充满个性，但一般都可以归入上面八类。识别、破解这八类策略，熟悉这些策略的标志性句子，我们可以在老外想结束谈话时放人，从而使他们觉得和我们谈话比较comfortable。
