what修饰的是名词,how 修饰的是形容词
从从句的角度来分析的话：what一般引导主语从句，宾语从句，且在从句中作主语或宾语
而句子中作主语或宾语的一般都是名词，也就是说what修饰的是名词。、how是副词修饰副词或形容词，在从句中不能做主语或宾语，可以作状语。
从上面的句子可以看到，what a nice day!其实这里what a nice day!在句末省掉了is。what a nice day is! what强调的是 a day
而how 强调的是nice这个形容词
